DAY 1 : Arrive Auckland

On arrival in Auckland you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a Welcome Reception and Highlight Dinner with your Tour Director.

DAY 2 : Auckland Sights

Start the day with a sightseeing tour. Later you’ll cruise on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour.

DAY 3 : Auckland - Rotorua

Tour Waitomo Glow Worm Grotto with a Local Guide. Continue to Rotorua, where you’ll visit Te Puia, New Zealand’s Maori Arts & Crafts Institute. You’re invited to a Maori Hang with local wine and concert at the Tamaki Family Marae.

DAY 4 : Rotorua - Christchurch

Your morning sightseeing includes a visit to Rainbow Springs Nature Park and the Agrodome Sheep Show. This afternoon fly to Christchurch (airfare not included).

DAY 5 : Christchurch - Franz Josef

Start the day with a spectacular train journey on the TranzAlpine through the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass. At Hokitika visit a New Zealand greenstone (jade) factory. Arrive in Franz Josef Glacier, where you’ll have the option to see it from the air on an scenic flight (weather permitting).

DAY 6 : Franz Josef - Queenstown

Drive over the Haast Pass, past Thunder Creek Falls, Lakes Wanaka, Hawea and Dunstan. Enjoy the tastes of delicious stone fruit at Cromwell. Then you’ll visit historic Arrowtown before arriving in Queenstown, where an orientation tour completes your day.

DAY 7 : Milford Sound

Travel through Fiordland National Park and the hand-hewn Homer Tunnel to mystical Milford Sound, where you’ll cruise on this wonder of nature.

DAY 8 : Queenstown Included Choice

Today choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. Ride the Thunder Jet on Lake Wakatipu, join a wine tour, play a round of golf or take a gondola to the Skyline Restaurant for dinner. Perhaps take a 4WD minibus through Skippers Canyon, relax with a spa treatment at Millbrook Resort, go horse riding or explore Queenstown on a Segway.

DAY 9 : Queenstown – Christchurch

See Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo, where you’ll stop to view the Church of the Good Shepherd. You’re invited into the home of Angie and Stan Taylor to enjoy a barbecue lunch in their 240 hectare garden. Then travel to Christchurch and join your Tour Director for a Farewell Dinner.
